Experience a true North Pacific crossing aboard One World, our 53-foot Amel Super Maramu 2000 bluewater cruising yacht. Beginning on Oʻahu, the crew spends several days preparing the vessel, learning its systems and sailing to beautiful Hanalei Bay on Kauaʻi. From there, when the vessel and crew are ready and an appropriate weather window develops, we raise anchor and leave Hawaii behind for thousands of miles of open-ocean sailing.
Our goal is to sail from Hawaii to Alaska, ideally making landfall in Sitka. But this is true bluewater cruising, and the weather ultimately determines the route. Throughout the crossing, we use onboard weather analysis together with a professional weather-routing service staffed by experienced meteorologists to position the vessel for the most favorable conditions. Depending on how the North Pacific develops, our landfall could be Sitka, Ketchikan, British Columbia, Vancouver Island or the Pacific Northwest.
This is a fully immersive bluewater sailing and cruising experience. The entire crew participates in watchkeeping, navigation, weather analysis, sail handling, vessel systems, maintenance and the everyday responsibilities of operating a self-sufficient cruising yacht at sea. Days become weeks, temperatures change as we sail north, and life develops around the rhythm of the vessel, the crew, the weather and the ocean.
After thousands of miles at sea, making landfall along the wild northern coast of North America is an extraordinary accomplishment. Whether the North Pacific brings us directly to Alaska or farther south to begin an adventure north through the Inside Passage, the objective remains the same: cross a major ocean, gain genuine bluewater experience, and let the journey unfold wherever the wind and weather take us.
